Specialty coffee roaster Seven Miles has acquired Bills Beans, a boutique roaster located in Orange, New South Wales. According to Seven Miles, Bills Beans has been a prominent part of the local coffee scene for more than 13 years.

“Orange has a long history of outstanding food and drink credentials and Bills Beans has always been one of the region’s best-kept secrets,” says Jenny Willits, CEO of Seven Miles.

“Similarly to Seven Miles, Bills Beans is passionate about delivering exceptional coffee and we look forward to introducing our new customers to the Seven Miles experience.”

This comes as part of Seven Miles’ plans to expand its national coverage, with Bills Beans expanding the brands reach in regional NSWs and adding an extra 100 café customers.

“This builds on our strategy of local roasting, supporting cafés and coffee lovers with exceptional coffee in their community,” says Jenny.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this latest milestone in our growth story and look forward to welcoming the Bills Beans team into the Seven Miles family.”

Bills Beans will be added to list of existing micro-roasteries under Seven Miles that are located in Canberra and Brisbane, along with Seven Miles’ roastery and headquarters in Sydney’s northern beaches.

Bills Beans was created in 2007 by Lisa Poole and Bill Parianos, with the name also encompassing additional coffee brands and blends that will also become part of Seven Miles’ portfolio.

This includes Orange Roasting Co and Caffeine Collective, as well as Bills Beans’ specialty tea brand, Remy & Max.

“There were a few offers we were considering, but for the team at Bills Beans, it was Seven Miles that really stood out,” says Lisa Poole, Director of Bills Beans.

“There is so much synergy between our beliefs and values – delivering quality coffee, providing exceptional service, supporting local communities – it really felt like a meeting of two minds.”

Seven Miles has roasted coffee for more than 50 years, serving more than 800 café partners and thousands of retail customers. Its portfolio includes the likes of Leaf & Berry, The Cat’s Pyjamas, Gusto, and more.
